Peggy Hart is a very welcomed new addition to the K-J Equestrian family and is teaching at the Silver Fields location. She has been teaching for over 20 years in the fields of Dressage,Eventing, Hunter/Jumpers and some Carriage Driving. Her passion has always been fox hunting where she is now Master of Fox Hounds and a whipper-in with the Oak Grove Hunt Club. We love to encourage any of our riders to try fox hunting as an alternative to getting outside of the show ring a few times a year. Peggy also owned the compayny Equine Care Services where she cared for horses from backyard ponies to Olympic level show horses. She also works closely with the Equine Alliance at Shelby Farms to further the horse experience for riders and owners from all over the Shelby County areas.
Miranda Strafuss has been riding since she was 8 years old and showing nationally since she was 14. She has grown with Cedarwood Farms to win many local,regional and zone awards and championships from the beginner level to the Grand Prix level. She is a full time college student at University of Memphis along with keeping her hunter "Hoagy" and Grand Prix jumper "Bridge" ready for the show season.She enjoys teaching the beginner riders and starting them for the show ring while training and showing client horses to them to enjoy or further their winning in the show ring.
Sandi Edscorn- White has been with Cedarwood Farms for the last 6 years. She started riding at the age of 6 where she trained with jumper rider John McConnell's assistants at their training facility in Golden Colorado at his family's training facility. She then continued her training and teaching in Texas at Rasberry Farms until she went to college. She graduated from Southern Methodist University and University of Memphis with her masters degree in education. Sandi continued her education by getting certified by the American Horsemanship Safety Association. She also teaches full time in the Memphis School system in English for the last 16 years. Sandi teachers our beginners to intermediate riders and has taken many of her students to local championships and year end awards.
